March 30th - April 10th

Hi Students and Parents, I hope that all are happy and healthy. Well, we are starting a new chapter in public education that has never been tried at Soulsbyville School – at home learning. This will require patience and communication as we figure out how home learning will work and how we can be successful in continuing your education.

Math
I have two ways to do your Math work.

  • 1.If you have internet and access to a computer or tablet, I would like you to do Get More Math for 50 minuets a day Monday through Friday. The more points you earn the better. This week will be just review but next week I will add skills with a video lesson. You will find the videos links and information in a new Google Classroom. Go to your Goggle Classroom and hit the + button to add a classroom. The new Google Math Class and the code for Period 1 Math is:
  • touyw2d
  • Period 2 Math is:
  • 5csow5t
  • Please take a picture of your scratch paper and attach it to week 1 assignment. This may be a problem and if so I will have to figure out something different.
  • 2.If you do not have internet and access to a computer or tablet, I have a Math packet to pick up at the office. There will be 5 assignments for the week.

When you need help:

The first place you should do if you need help is check your math Journal.

khan academy Is a great help if you are having problems solving a problem. Go to this web site and key in a search word and pick a video.

https://www.khanacademy.org

Also YouTube has videos to solve problems.

Email me when you have exhausted all other avenues and I will be happy to help: mhopper@soulsbyvilleschool.com

Science

Each week’s assignments will be found on your Google Classroom Science page. If you do not have access to the internet, pick up a packet in the office.

Week 1.

You have a packet to answer questions on Climate. Feel free to use the internet to help answer question.

Then watch this video and take notes on google classroom.

March 30th - April 10th

Dear 6th Grade Parents and Students,

I hope you are all doing well during this strange and difficult time. In an effort to continue your child’s education and learning opportunities during the shutdown I have put some practice assignments together. Most of the assignments that I have included are extensions of the curriculum that we have already covered in class this year. However, I have also included some new spelling words and assignments to go along with them. Please do your best to complete as many of these assignments as possible in the next few weeks. It is also extremely important that your child read their AR books as much as possible during this time. I suggest a minimum of 30 minutes per day.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at rfulkerson@soulsbyvilleschool.com and I will do my best to get back to you as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Mr. Fulkerson

rfulkerson@soulsbyvilleschool.com

PS I miss all of you and cannot wait for things to get back to normal so that I can see all of your smiling faces.

Stay safe!
